This letterpress printed deboss started out as a photograph of my client’s boat. I re-created the image as a vector in Illustrator, and output the drawing for letterpress platemaking. My client wanted a blind deboss, but I knew the desired effect would be best achieved with a hint of color. I chose a cool grey, and lightened it up further by mixing in some transparent white ink base. The end result is subtle, but still has presence.
